Pink Tale #53, Sultan’s Horses
At Jiggety-Jig Farmers Market Ballarat
Three men in Akubras all with bottles of wine in hand (just bought from another stallholder), walk briskly through the market about to go past my stall.
Me: Hi! Are you game to try the beetroot muesli?
Man1: Naaah, I’m not a muesli person. (he and Man2 do not slow down and go past me. Man3 slows down.)
Man3: Sure, I’m game. I like beetroot. I also read in the news about a beetroot farmer in Nyah West who now supplies tons of beetroot a month to a Sultan for his race horses. It’s supposed to improve blood flow.
Me: Indeed it does! The sultan knows something valuable. He is a wise man. It works for horses, it works for us too! Worked for me! Its’ lowered my high blood pressure. Here have a taste. (I hand him a sample. By this time, his buddies have stopped to observe our exchange.)
Man3: Wow! I didn’t expect that, that’s very good!
Me: Thank you!
Man3: Let me try this Citrus & Ginger, that’s more my flavor. (I hand him that). Ummm, that ginger really comes through. Yup, give me a large bag of that please.
Me: Thank you so much for giving it a go! (as I hand him his pink bag)
Big man’s in the pink ?
